Long Bio:
Carie Juettner taught seventh grade English for nineteen years before leaving the classroom to write. She is the author of five books in Arcadia’s Spooky America series for middle grade readers, including The Ghostly Tales of New England and The Ghostly Tales of Dallas. Her award-winning poems and short stories have appeared in over fifty anthologies and online publications, such as Daily Science Fiction, Encore: Prize Poems of the NFSPS, The Twin Bill, and Wow! Women on Writing.
Carie was born on Halloween and has loved spooky things ever since. She grew up listening to ghost stories around the campfire and now enjoys scaring other people with creepy tales of her own. Not all of her hobbies are frightening, though. Carie loves spending time in nature and has a soft spot for critters of all kinds. In her spare time, she reads in her hammock, takes walks in the woods, and volunteers with an organization that rescues, rehabs, and releases injured and orphaned wildlife. There she bottle-feeds baby raccoons, bathes baby skunks, and cleans up a lot of opossum poop. Carie lives in Richardson, Texas, with her husband, pets, and the many types of wildlife that visit her yard. She blogs about reading, writing, teaching, and animal antics on her website: cariejuettner.com.
